If overheated, the server may get damaged or will not function at its optimal level. Next, make sure that the room is completely free of dust. That is because dust is one of the most destructive enemies of hardware component. Thus, regularly get rid of dust by spraying the insides of the hardware with compressed air. Use short bursts to blow the debris off. For deep cleaning, turn the power off and use an anti-static cleaning cloth to wipe off the dust. It is also important to note to use the right cleaning solution.

If possible, use static-free shells to house sensitive electronics. These shells are designed specifically to make sure that your hardware is kept well. They may be on the costly side of the budget but the investment is worth it. Finally, keep old equipment, cardboard boxes, and other rubbish away from the server room. Not only will this cause clutter but they also constitute a fire hazard. Do not forget to place a fire extinguisher nearby.
